ARCHIVED - Cops on quads will patrol Benidorm beaches this summer
Benidorm Local Police has extended its fleet with two new state-of-the-art quad bikes
Benidorm is already enjoying the welcome return of international holidaymakers, and on the cusp of the summer season when record numbers of tourists are expected to hit the resort's hugely popular beaches, the Local Police has strengthened its fleet with two new quad bikes to patrol the coastline.
The 'state-of-the-art' all-terrain quads are fitted with a liquid cooling system, front and rear suspension with five-position preload, mechanical handling and double hydraulic brakes.
And similar to police cars, they have lights and sirens along with an anti-roll bar and winch, and can carry a front load of up to 120 kilos and a rear load of up to 600 kilos.
The bikes were officially presented at Plaza de SS MM Los Reyes de España on Wednesday morning, June 15.

Benidorm Mayor, Toni Pérez, said: "We will provide the best service of surveillance on the beaches since both of these vehicles have all the technical characteristics necessary for a guaranteed service".
With high hopes of reaching, if not surpassing, pre-pandemic visitor figures, the mayor said the forthcoming summer season is "very special", and as such "the Town Hall is making an extraordinary effort to ensure that safety, cleanliness and guarantees are the best they can be because Benidorm is a reference point for other resorts".
