ARCHIVED - Under 1,000 daily cases in latest report: Valencia Covid update August 10
966 coronavirus cases reported across the Valencia region’s three provinces, including Alicante
The latest Covid update, published on August 10 by the regional government, reports a large drop in cases, with under 1,000 cases since the previous update 24 hours ago.
The 966 Covid cases in the latest update are a stark contrast to last week’s figures; 3.193 on Monday (August 2); 1,704 on Tuesday (August 3); 2,297 on Wednesday (August 4); 2,073 on Thursday (August 5); and 2,060 on Friday (August 6).
New cases: 966 cases of coronavirus confirmed by PCR or antigen testing, bringing the total number of positive diagnosis to 481,673. By provinces: 461 in Alicante (173,159 in total) and 389 in Valencia (258,632 in total); and 116 in Castellón (49,880 in total).
Vaccines: 19,693 doses have been administered in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people who have received at least one dose to 3,456,872. Meanwhile, 2,943,425 people in the region have been fully immunized.
Recoveries: since the latest update, more people have recovered from the virus (2,741) than tested positive (966).
Hospitalizations: there are now 626 Covid patients in Valencis’s hospitals, of whom 105 are in intensive care: 206 in Alicante province, 27 of them in ICU; 341 in Valencia, 59 of them in ICU; and 79 in Castellón, 19 in ICU.
Fatalities: the total number of deaths caused by coronavirus since the start of the pandemic has risen to 7,546, after 11 further fatalities in the past seven days. The totals by province are: 2,871 in Alicante, 3,858 in Valencia and 817 in Castellón.
The cumulative incidence rate per 100,000 residents in the past 14 days in Valencia, which is now 453.02, has dropped by 34.07 points in 24 hours and 115.99 points in a week; the figure last Tuesday (August 3) was 569,01.
Despite the high numbers of Covid in the region, the police in Elche found 200 people at an illegal car ‘tuning’ convention last weekend.
