These are the bank holidays in the Valencia Region in 2023
These will be the dates of the public holidays in the Valencian Community this year
The regional government of the Comunidad Valenciana has revealed its calendar of red days and public bank holidays in Valencia and Alicante for 2023.
There are a total of 12 such festivo days in the region for 2023.
For this year, the main difference will be that, although the holiday of El Día de San José on March 19 (which is Father’s Day in Spain) falls on a Sunday, the day off will not be transferred to the Monday.
Instead, people in Valencia and Alicante will have a day off on Monday October 9, the date set aside to commemorate the Comunidad Valenciana. In short, it means exchanging one long weekend in March for another seven months later.
Another long weekend in 2023 is the Puente de la Constitución in December, when it will be possible to take a holiday from Wednesday December 6 to Sunday December 10.
When will the public holidays be in Valencia and Alicante in 2023?
- Friday 6 January (The Feast of the Epiphany)
- Friday 7 April (Good Friday)
- Monday 10 April (Easter Monday)
- Monday 1 May (Labour Day/May Day)
- Saturday 24 June (San Juan)
- Tuesday 15 August (Feast of the Assumption)
- Monday 9 October (Day of the Valencian Community)
- Thursday 12 October (Día de la Hispanidad/Spain Day)
- Wednesday 1 November (All Saints Day)
- Wednesday 6 December (Spanish Constitution Day)
- Friday 8 December (Immaculate Conception)
- Monday 25 December (Christmas Day)
In addition, each municipality in the Community decides a list of their own two days of local holidays.
