ARCHIVED - SERAWA Hotels in Alicante province marries hospitality and sustainable architecture
EDEM business school presents Valencian hotel chain as a success story for its design architecture, positive impact and sustainability
Last Thursday 27th October at the EDEM business school, which has more than 15 years of experience in the training of managers and entrepreneurs, practical cases were presented of companies that are committed to incorporating sustainability as a key axis of their business models. All of this, in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), was on the occasion of its First Business Sustainability Programme.
The representatives of the different participating companies that attended the event discussed their business models and how they are making sustainability an indispensable element of their business models.
Among these companies was SERAWA Hotels, whose executive president, Javier Cortina, presented to the attendees the origins and evolution of the SERAWA project, an evolution that runs parallel to the incorporation of sustainability in its environmental, social and good governance aspects.
During the course, Javier Cortina explained how SERAWA is developing its sustainability strategy, the dialogues with stakeholders and how they have been developing their process of localisation of the SDGs. SERAWA Hotels highlighted how the group maintains a fluid and open dialogue with their stakeholders, to ensure that their needs are taken into account and that the benefits of the activity are distributed in the locations where they operate.
They are currently incorporating all previous Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity into their sustainability plan. Javier emphasised that they do this out of conviction and not out of obligation and that sustainability, always present but not evident in SERAWA, has become a great tool for them, pointing out that sustainability and profitability go hand in hand.
About the Corporate Sustainability Programme
The Business Sustainability Programme is based on experiential learning in the exchange of ideas and experiences and based on technical and legal advice aimed at entrepreneurs and company managers who wish to incorporate sustainability into their business models or deepen their current actions or strategies.
