ARCHIVED - 1st December, 5 hour, 7.5km walking route in Moratalla
Discovering Moratalla, a series of proper walks for walkers
Moratalla Route 5: Arroyo Blanco – La Molata – Rambla de la Rogativa.
NB. Originally the routes programme had been cancelled due to the ill health of the guide, however, the programme will now resume from the 1st December with this walk which is now officially "uncancelled".
Moratalla is continuing with an autumn cycle of walks which are designed to take in the attractions of the landscape and its flora and fauna, and show off some of the stunning countryside which surrounds this hilltop town. The forests, peaks and natural beauty of this municipality are popular with walkers and lovers of the great outdoors, and anyone wishing to spend a couple of days in the area can contact the tourist office for help with accommodation. Moratalla is renowned for its scenery and walking opportunities and is a very popular destination amongst the Spanish who enjoy outdoor pursuits. Those wishing to take part should register either at the Tourist Office Tel. 968 730208.
The walks themselves cost 10 euros and include guide and insurance, and end in a local restaurant where walkers will share a meal (which they have to pay for!) but is an excellent opportunity for serious walkers to discover a really beautiful corner of the Region of Murcia in the company of those who know it like the back of their hand.
