Overcast but dry and warm weekend ahead: Alicante weather outlook Oct 20-23

Alicante province will remain mostly pleasant with highs of 32°C as storm Armand hits the north of Spain

As the first high-impact storm, Armand, inches its way into Spain this weekend, dumping heavy rain in the north, west and central areas of the country, Alicante province looks set to escape the washout and will remain mostly dry and warm.

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has forecast cloudy or overcast skies on Thursday October 20, with morning mist and fog and possible scattered showers further inland. Temperatures are unlikely to change significantly with highs of 28°C, and coastal towns can expect a light northerly wind with moderate intervals; a light easterly wind will tend towards westerly in the rest of the province.

Denia: 19°C to 26°C
Elche: 18°C to 27°C
Orihuela: 18°C to 27°C

Friday October 21 will get off to a cloudy start with intervals of high cloud throughout the day.  The mercury will rise slightly, reaching 32°C in parts of the Vega Baja, accompanied by moderate southerly winds on the coast, and weak westerly winds elsewhere.

Elche: 17°C to 29°C
Orihuela: 18°C to 32°C

Intervals of high cloud are forecast on Saturday October 22, although it will still feel very warm with thermometers remaining in the high 20s. Variable winds will be light, and predominantly from the east and southeast.

Little change on Sunday October 23; slightly overcast in the morning with intervals of high clouds later on. Daytime temperatures will rise slightly, and the province can expect light winds from the south and southeast.
