July 1 Step back in time with a guided history tour of Puerto de Mazarrón
Visitors will explore a Phoenician ship centre, Roman remains and an ancient fish-salting factory

Puerto de Mazarrón is giving history lovers the chance to explore some of the area's most fascinating archaeological treasures during a guided cultural visit on Wednesday July 1.
Starting at 6.30pm, the one-hour route will take visitors on a journey through centuries of local history, from the Phoenicians to the Romans.
The tour includes a visit to the Phoenician Ship Interpretation Centre, where visitors can learn about one of the most important underwater archaeological discoveries made in the Mediterranean. Participants will also see the remains of a Roman house on Calle Era before heading to the Archaeological Museum and Roman Fish Salting Factory.
Organisers say the route offers a unique opportunity to discover how different civilisations helped shape the Mazarrón coastline and its long maritime history.
Anyone planning to take part will need their own transport to reach the meeting point, which will be provided after registration. Visitors are advised to bring water and wear suitable footwear for walking. A hat and sun protection are also recommended given the time of year.
Pets are not permitted on the tour and children must be supervised by a parent or responsible adult at all times.
You can reserve your place now through the Turismo Region de Murcia website here.
