English book market in San Javier library

For the first time the monthly market will feature only English language books

The monthly “mercado del libro” held in the library of San Javier is this month holding a special English language edition of the market, including around 300 books which can be borrowed free of charge by members of the public.

The event is to be held on Thursday 17^th October, and includes both classics and modern novels donated mainly by local British residents, all of them in perfect condition. The stand at the entrance to the library will be open between 9.00 and 13.00, and for the first time only titles published in English will be on display.

Among other languages featured in the library’s collection are Arabic, Italian, German, French and Swedish, many of the books concerned having been donated by individuals living or staying locally, and those in English and Arabic are proving especially popular with the public.

So, all donations of books in good condition can be taken to the library and local residents may now know that there is an English language lending section in their local San Javier library.
