ARCHIVED - Galleon Andalucia returns to Valencia Port for visits: March 9 to 20
The 55-metre floating museum will dock in Valencia city's marina as part of a European tour

The galleon Andalucía, a 55-metre replica of the Spanish ships that sailed the Atlantic during the 16th to 18th centuries, will dock in Valencia on Wednesday March 9 offering the public a chance to jump on board and tour the floating museum until March 20.
The imposing ship, built of iroko and pine wood, is an authentic floating museum of Spain's maritime heritage and has already sailed more than 55,000 nautical miles across oceans and seas all over the world, visiting ports on four continents such as Shanghai, Singapore, Hong Kong, Manila, New York and Quebec.
The ship, which boasts four masts carrying seven sails with an area of 930 sqm, is currently touring several ports in Spain and Europe, showing what these ships which made the Spanish fleet a world power in the days of the Empire in South America were really like.

During the galleon Andalucía's 11-day stopover in Valencia, visitors will be able to walk around the decks and learn about the ship's history, navigation and what life was like on board.
In addition, Tall Ship Experience is offering the public the chance to become part of the crew and live the experience of sailing aboard the galleon through its 'trainees' programme.
Opening times are from 10 am to 7 pm with tickets costing seven euros for adults, four euros for children aged five to 10, and 18 euros for families with two adults and two children between those ages.
Admission is free for children under 5, who must be accompanied by an adult.
Tickets are available at Valencia port or online at www.velacuadra.es
