Benidorm legendary erotic entertainer Sticky Vicky dies
The x-rated 80-year-old passed away at her Costa Blanca home surrounded by family
Alicante’s most famous x-rated performer Sticky Vicky, who turned 80 in April, passed away on Wednesday November 29 after a long illness.
“I regret these words, my mother Sticky Vicky passed away today at 6 in the morning, I can't believe it,” her daughter wrote on the official Sticky Vicky Facebook page.
The exotic dancer, whose real name was Victoria María Aragüés Gadea, was born in Tenerife in 1943 but moved to Benidorm in 1980 where she used her skills as a trained ballet dancer to create her one-of-a-kind magic show.
Sticky Vicky shocked millions of British holidaymakers with her unique performances for more than three decades, which involved pulling a variety of items such as umbrellas, ping pong balls and even a machete from her nether regions.
The beloved dancer eventually quit the stage in 2016 when she was diagnosed with uterine cancer, but she handed the reins to her daughter Maria Gadea Aragues.
Vicky was always grateful for the support of her UK fans, who she said were largely responsible for keeping the show going over the years.
“I never thought I could be on a stage at my age, and it is all thanks to the English public,” she said.
“To do what I do you must have a lot of delicacy. It is necessary to give it a touch of elegance,” Vicky added.
Tributes have been flooding in for Benidorm’s best loved entertainer since news of her death became public.
“God bless you and your family your mum put Benidorm on the map,” one person wrote.
“I was 14 years old when I first heard of your beautiful mum... I finally got to see her numerous times in my 40s and your show too.... Benidorm will be now dark at night....after losing it's biggest star.. absolute legend... Bless you,” another added.
