ARCHIVED - Alfaz del Pi ramps up access to its Tourist Information Office and most visited sites
The office in the Marina Baixa town is now fully accessible for people with reduced mobility

Work has been carried out on an access ramp at Alfaz del Pi's Tourist Information Office, the most visited office in the town, improving accessibility for people reduced mobility.
The upgrade is part of a drive to make popular municipal spaces and tourist attractions available to all residents and visitors, and follows alterations to the Serra Gelada lighthouse route, which can now be enjoyed by wheelchair users.

Along the route, accesses to rest and picnic areas have been paved so that any wheelchair user or person with reduced mobility can access them and "make full use of this emblematic route in the Natural Park".
Another area that has become more accessible is Albir Beach, which this year had, for the first time, an assisted bathing service for people with reduced mobility.
"With these improvements we are trying to ensure that any resident or tourist, whatever their mobility, can access any of the public spaces in the municipality, including places such as the Roman Villa," explained the Town Hall, highlighting the fact that "Alfaz del Pi is the only municipality in the Marina Baixa area of Alicante province recognised by the European Foundation for Environmental Education", with three European awards: Blue Flag, Blue Trail and Blue Centre.
