9 new destinations you will be able to fly to from Alicante airport with easyJet in summer 2024
easyJet have announced new flight routes for next summer at the World Travel Market in London
Next summer, Alicante-Elche airport will have nine new routes on its roster that will see 125,000 more seats being sold.
Airline easyJet is behind these new routes with the opening of the company’s new seasonal base at the Costa Blanca airport, its fourth in Spain.
Specifically, these new routes will be:
- Southampton
- Newcastle
- Belfast
- Zurich
- Prague
- Lyon
- Lille
- Nantes
- Nice
Seats for these flights have already begun to be sold on the easyJet website.
The announcement of these new features for the summer was made at the World Travel Market (WTM), the London Tourism Fair, by Gary Wilson, CEO of easyJet Holidays, together with the president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Carlos Mazón, and the president of the Alicante Provincial Council, Toni Pérez.
The new base of operations “consolidates the airline’s commitment to Alicante, in addition to giving a greater boost to tourism in the region in the middle of the summer season.”
In total, easyJet will have 1.5 million seats for sale from Alicante for the 2024 summer season, which is an increase of around 10% compared to the 2023 summer season. This action enables the creation of around 100 direct jobs between pilots and crew with 3 aircraft based at the airport.
Javier Gándara, General Director of easyJet in southern Europe, points out that “as part of the transversal commitment to Alicante, combined trips have also been launched at very affordable prices to promote new routes between the United Kingdom, where the activity is focused on Alicante.”
The announcement comes shortly after Ryanair promised three new European flight destinations from Alicante this winter.
