20-degree temperatures return: Alicante weather forecast Feb 1-4
The coming weekend promises to be dry and bright throughout Alicante province
Weather outlook on Saturday February 3
The weather has been a little chilly in Alicante over the last few days, with the likes of Elche failing to climb above 18ºC, while in towns such as Alcoy and the provincial capital, the mercury dipped as low as 5ºC in the middle of the night.
But while there’s definitely a crisper, more wintery feeling in the air, the next few days promise to be dry, bright and sunny and the daytime temperatures should shoot up again, briefly, at the tail-end of the weekend.
Thursday February 1
Mostly clear or slightly cloudy skies are expected, with patches of low-lying clouds along the coast in the early morning hours. Temperatures will dip slightly overnight before rising during the day, with only minor variations in the south. Gentle breezes will blow from the west, veering to the south along the coast during the afternoon.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Thursday
Alcoy: 4ºC to 17ºC
Alicante: 6ºC to 16ºC
Denia: 7ºC to 17ºC
Elche: 6ºC to 17ºC
Orihuela: 8ºC to 18ºC
Friday February 2
Partly cloudy or clear skies are forecast for Friday, with more overcast intervals rolling in during the afternoon. Temperatures will remain steady or drop slightly overnight, followed by a slight decrease in most places during the afternoon. Winds will be light and variable, leaning towards an easterly direction along the coast in the late morning.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Friday
Alcoy: 6ºC to 16ºC
Alicante: 8ºC to 18ºC
Denia: 8ºC to 17ºC
Elche: 6ºC to 18ºC
Orihuela: 6ºC to 17ºC
Saturday February 3
Southern Alicante will begin the day very overcast but this should clear early enough to give way to mostly bright skies with some cloudy intervals. Temperatures will remain largely unchanged.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Saturday
Alcoy: 4ºC to 17ºC
Alicante: 7ºC to 19ºC
Denia: 6ºC to 19ºC
Elche: 5ºC to 18ºC
Orihuela: 7ºC to 18ºC
Sunday February 4
The weather outlook for Sunday is much the same as the day before but the daytime temperatures should jump up by a couple of degrees, most notably in Elche and Orihuela, which could exceed 20ºC in the middle of the afternoon.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Sunday
Alcoy: 6ºC to 19ºC
Alicante: 9ºC to 18ºC
Denia: 7ºC to 19ºC
Elche: 6ºC to 20ºC
Orihuela: 6ºC to 20ºC
