Upgraded Renfe trains offer hundreds more seats from Murcia and Alicante
The new S106 train will run on the Valladolid-Alicante/Murcia line from next month
Renfe has announced a big upgrade on its Avlo service between Valladolid and Alicante/Murcia with the addition of brand-new S106 trains from May 21.
From then, the old Avlo S112 will be replaced by the rail operator’s most modern train to date.
Once it hits the tracks next month, passengers will have 43% more Avlo seats to choose from, since the latest addition has a capacity of more than 500 travellers. Overall, this service will increase from almost 5,000 passengers to over 7,000 per week as of the 21st.
In addition to the increase in the number of seats, Renfe promises that the new trains have more state-of-the-art features than ever before and are much more comfortable than the old rolling stock.
Tickets for the Avlo service can now be purchased at the ‘Superprecios’ rate from just 7 euros per one way trip. This promotion is valid for travel from May 21 to July 21.
Renfe provides its Avlo service in Castilla y León with two daily frequencies and a travel time of 3 hours and 42 minutes between Valladolid and Alicante. The departure from Campo Grande station is at 3.50pm, and the return from Murcia at 10.32am.
Murcia has two daily Avlo services, one in each direction, that connect the city with Alicante and other towns in the Alicante province (Orihuela, Elche and Villena) as well as with Albacete, Cuenca and Madrid.
