ARCHIVED - Time called on troublesome turkey that tormented a Pilar de Horadada neighbourhood
The bird has been bothering locals in the Vega Baja town in Alicante province for days
Locals in Pilar de Horadada have finally bid farewell to a tyrant of a turkey that has been making a nuisance of itself for days.
It's not clear exactly where the bird came from, but over the last week it has been making its presence known in one particular neighbourhood, making a racket and causing a mess.
After days of complaints, the Local Police took matters into its own hands and set about capturing the troublesome turkey. The bird had made its way onto the rooftop of one property, and "putting his own safety at risk", an officer climbed up onto the roof and armed with a large net, eventually managed to bring it down to safety.
The bird is now in the care of a municipal animal collection company.
