ARCHIVED - Mystery as goat found tied to a lamppost in La Alberca
Nobody knows how the animal made its way to the centre of the Murcia town, or who tied it up
Residents of the Murcia city district of La Alberca were greeted by an unusual sight as they got up to go about their business early on Thursday morning, July 7: a goat, tied to a lamppost on a footpath in the centre of the town.
The tethered animal, who appeared quite unfazed by its unfamiliar surroundings, was spotted by locals at around 7.20am and the Local Police were immediately called to Calle San Francisco Javier de La Alberca.
The officers asked around and eventually the owner was located, who said that he had been looking for the animal since it escaped. He was delighted that she was safe and took her back home.
It’s still not clear how the goat made her way to the urban street or what Good Samaritan tied her up to keep her safe.
This is the second feel-good animal news from La Alberca today: earlier, a pony which had gone missing was found by locals and returned to its relieved owner.
