ARCHIVED - Step aboard the Greenpeace Rainbow Warrior in Valencia: July 8-10
Greenpeace's flagship docks at the Marina de Valencia on Wednesday July 6

Greenpeace is opening up the decks of its flagship, the Rainbow Warrior, during a whistle-stop tour of Valencia as part of an international campaign against fossil fuels.
The vessel will dock at the Marina de Valencia on Wednesday July 6, and the public can jump aboard and meet the crew from Friday July 8 to Sunday July 10.
The visit with tours is part of Greenpeace's campaign against fossil fuels as the main cause of climate change and the financing of the war in Ukraine.
Greenpeace is touring international waters to put pressure on governments and demand "urgent solutions" to these global issues.
"Citizens have in their hands the solutions to defend the right to a safe life on a healthy planet: the climate litigation and the European Citizens' Initiative (ECI) in which Spain, along with dozens of other countries, formally calls for an end to the advertising and sponsorship of fossil fuel companies," said Greenpeace in a statement.
A European Citizens' Initiative (ECI) is a petition officially recognised and approved by the European Commission. If an ECI reaches one million verified signatures within a given timeframe and from at least seven EU countries, the European Commission is legally obliged to respond.
"If we get enough signatures, we have almost 300,000 so far, the European Commission may consider turning our demands into European legislation," added the global campaigning organisation.

The legendary Rainbow Warrior, the third Greenpeace ship to sail the seas under this name, was built using "the most sustainable existing technology at the time" and is constantly upgraded. A bow gangway was recently installed to improve navigation and thus save fuel, one of "many measures" that make the Rainbow Warrior "one of the world's leading and most efficient sailing ships".
The Rainbow Warrior is open for visits in Valencia on the following dates and times:
- Friday July 8 from 6pm to 9pm
- Saturday July 9 from 10am to 1pm and 6pm to 9pm
- Sunday July 10 from 10am to 1pm
Face masks must be worn throughout the visits.
