Seen something dirty? Send a WhatsApp and get it cleaned up
Águilas now has an ‘incident response service’ to improve street cleanliness
There is a very special new service starting in Águilas for local residents to be able to report when they find something dirty or large bits of rubbish or debris in the street, and have it cleaned up in a jiffy but the local Council’s cleaning service.
The Councillor for Cleaning in Águilas, Noelia Ruano, has announced that the concessionary company for the cleaning service has set up its incident service, which will be managed by two operators.
In this way, she explained, anyone in Águilas will be able to inform them of “any anomaly they may detect”.
All people have to do is send a WhatsApp message to the telephone number +34 659 94 98 36, including a photograph of the problem and a description of its location, such as a street name and number.
This service will be available Monday to Friday from 6am to 8.30pm.
“This is an improvement in the service for the operation of which citizen collaboration and awareness is vital,” said the Councillor, who also explained that “this service should be understood as exclusively for the attention of incidents; that is, the schedules and places for depositing rubbish and the removal of household items must continue to be respected, however, and despite this, if any citizen detects any incident in the cleaning can send a message to inform the cleaning service.”
