Perfect timing to hit the beach: the Region of Murcia is gearing up for an Indian Summer
With temperatures rising, quieter beaches in Murcia are ready to be explored

The sea remains pleasantly warm, around 24°C in October, inviting anyone eager for one last dip before the cooler months. Murcia’s Costa Cálida truly becomes a hidden treasure at this time, with the crowds thinning out and calm returning to its famed beaches.
If unspoiled nature is what you seek, Calblanque Beach near Cartagena is hard to beat. Thanks to protected access, its golden sands and dunes remain pristine, ideal for those wanting to escape the noise and soak up the tranquility without any beach bars or touristy distractions.
Down south in Águilas, the Cuatro Calas are a collection of rocky coves with crystal-clear waters and a peaceful setting perfect in autumn. Beaches like La Carolina, Los Cocedores, and Calarreona are declared Protected Landscapes, making them a must for nature lovers.
For a family-friendly vibe surrounded by palm trees, Percheles Beach in Mazarrón offers a laid-back tropical feel, though visitors should be prepared as facilities are limited. Meanwhile, La Azohía near Cartagena keeps some beach bars open on weekends, combining seaside relaxation with local flavours.
If convenient facilities matter, Bolnuevo Beach in Mazarrón is a top choice. Its long sandy stretch, promenade, and year-round open beach bars make for an easy, enjoyable day by the water without fuss.
So, whether seeking peaceful natural beauty or some simple seaside comforts, Murcia’s beaches offer a great chance to enjoy the sun and sea during this lovely Indian Summer spell.
