A 56-year-old man has tragically lost his life after being hit by a car on the N-332, considered one of Spain's most dangerous roads and the scene of frequent accidents as it passes through densely populated coastal areas.

The victim was struck close to kilometre 191 in Pedreguer, near MasyMas supermarket, at around 9pm on Monday November 1.

A SAMU and an SVB unit were immediately sent to the scene, but medics could only confirm the fatally wounded man's death.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and no further details have been released.
