ARCHIVED - Nudist bike ride for peace in Murcia
The naked bicycle ride is a form of protest against all wars in the world today
A group of cyclists will set off today from Murcia city centre on a nudist cycle route to call for an end to wars around the world.
On their torsos, arms, legs, backs and other visible body parts, they will paint slogans in black with phrases like Stop War and No to War in Yemen, Ukraine, Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Israel and Palestine, Haiti, Myanmar and Islamic State.
The protest also intends to call for an end to and a complete ban on the manufacture and sale of arms.
Organised by the social warrior Jesús Antonio Fernández Olmedo and other solidarity groups, the nude cycling route will take place from 12 noon onwards, and will go through the streets, industrial estates and squares of Murcia capital city.
Eventually, the campaign aims to take this protest to different cities in Spain, creating a culture of non-violence.
Men and women who want to protest against war and violence are invited to join in and give visibility to these and other armed conflicts that exist today in the world, and not only the war in Ukraine.
