Man injured after 9th-floor balcony collapses into hotel pool at La Manga
The man, believed to be around 50, was treated at the scene and transferred to hospital after the balcony fell from a height into the pool of a La Manga hotel complex

A man has been injured and rushed to the hospital after a balcony collapsed at a hotel in La Manga del Mar Menor, in the municipality of Cartagena.
The incident happened on the afternoon of June 12, when several emergency calls to Spain's 1-1-2 service reported that a balcony had given way at a tourist accommodation in La Manga. According to witnesses, the structure detached from the ninth floor and fell into the hotel's swimming pool, where it struck a man who was in the area at the time.
Emergency services quickly responded to the scene, including Civil Protection teams from Cartagena, firefighters from the city's fire and rescue service, local police, and a mobile emergency medical unit (061).
Paramedics confirmed that the injured man, believed to be around 50 years old, was stabilised at the scene before being transferred to Hospital Clínico Universitario Virgen de la Arrixaca in Murcia for further treatment. Hospital staff were alerted in advance of his arrival.
Firefighters remained at the hotel afterwards to inspect the area, make the structure safe, and cordon off the section where the collapse occurred while checks were carried out to assess any further risk.
Authorities have not yet released further details about the man's condition or what caused the balcony to fail.
