Lorca to kick off the Christmas season with a concert and lights show this Saturday in Plaza de España
This year’s lights will be switched on with a show and lots of music
The event to kick off the festive season is set to be spectacular this year in Lorca as live acts and beautiful lights are to take centre stage this Saturday, November 30.
The event will feature a performance by artist Daniel Diges, who will perform, accompanied by a piano, a repertoire specially designed for this occasion.
Furthermore, there have been five new christmas trees made this year which will be located in different districts around Lorca. The main tree will be situated in the city’s Plaza de España and will have more than 4,000 LED bulbs to illuminate it.
Moreover, the council has planned and erected 269 ‘light arches’ that have been placed throughout the municipality.
The Councillor for Festivities in Lorca has stated, “We invite all Lorca residents and visitors to attend this event that marks the beginning of the Christmas season, and to enjoy the lights that will illuminate our streets, neighborhoods and districts from Saturday.”
The Councillor continued by stating that it will be the Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, together with Triana Ramos, a girl from Lorca diagnosed with an endodermal tumor, who will carry out the switching on of the spectacular lighting.
The council wishes to make a symbolic gesture “to reflect the strength and hope that Triana and all the children who fight against childhood cancer embody”.
