Guardia Civil offer appointment system in Mazarrón for non-urgent Denuncia (Crime Complaint) reporting
The Civil Guard expands the pilot experience of the appointment system to include Mazarrón
One of the reasons commonly given for not reporting non-urgent or petty crimes is that victims sometimes have to wait for hours, with the associated translator costs, in the Guardia Civil station to report and register the incident, but this has been addressed by the roll-out of a “prior appointment” (Cita Previa) system to avoid waiting times and encourage the general public to report smaller crimes which would otherwise go unreported and hence not be investigated.
The new appointment system is being rolled out to include Mazarrón after it was successfully trialled in six posts in the Madrid, Alicante and Almería commands.
Among the purposes pursued by this initiative is to avoid delays in waiting to be attended to and offer people better care, by placing at their disposal an officer specialised in their specific need for the necessary time, also respecting the hygienic-sanitary practices by avoiding unnecessary crowds in the waiting rooms.
This service is not recommended in cases where it is not convenient to postpone a complaint, such as crimes in which violence or intimidation has been used; when there is a perpetrator who can be recognised by the victim or witnesses; the disappearance of people; when the victim of the crime is a dependent minor or a person with a disability; if the crime is being committed or has just been committed; or it has occurred in buildings causing the breakage of windows, doors, walls, etc; as well as when dealing with events that require the prompt presence of officers at the scene of the events.
Complemented by the presentation of the electronic complaint through the official website, the prior appointment service will help speed up the procedures and the time spent in ratifying them at the citizen service offices.
To access the “Prior appointment” system click here and you will be given the following (translated) information to assist you in the appointment process:-
CLICK TO ACCESS THE "PRIOR APPOINTMENT" FOR FILING CRIMINAL COMPLAINTS
This service, implemented in 261 Civil Guard Posts in 43 provinces, allows online booking of the day and time for "citizen security complaints" and other non-urgent procedures, according to the conditions detailed in the computer application.
After choosing the province in which you wish to make the appointment, you will be requested to supply:
DNI, NIE, TIE or passport number
Name and surname

Phone and email
The application will then present the following options:
Select the office where you can do the procedure.
Select the appointment time within the available calendar
Consult confirmed appointments.
Cancel an appointment.
A "prior appointment" system is also available to report Weapons and Explosives irregularities or to arrange to hand in related equipment.
