For Murcia and for Spain: Alcaraz wins 2nd Wimbledon title
The 21-year-old Spaniard retains his Wimbledon title

2024's repeat of the previous year's Men's Wimbledon final between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic has yielded the same result, with the Spaniard beating his older rival once again to take the title.
Alcaraz, a native of El Palmar (Murcia), saw Djokovic off in just three sets, beating him 6-2, 6-2, 7-6. Djokovic had won Wimbledon the four previous years in a row.

He also won his first Roland Garros title this year, making this his fourth grand slam and only the sixth man to have won both Roland Garros and Wimbledon in the same year, which is known as the 'Channel Slam'.
He now becomes the only other Spaniard in history, along with Rafael Nadal, to win multiple Wimbledon singles titles.
The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, received a standing ovation when she arrived on centre court to watch the match. She is currently undergoing treatment for cancer.
Her daughter, Princess Charlotte, received a handshake from the champ after the match (pictured, above).
In a double victory for Spain, the Spanish Men's national football team have won the Euros 2024, beating England 2-1.
