ARCHIVED - Fire in rubbish bin damages six vehicles and three buildings in Alicante
It took Alicante firefighters over 30 minutes to finally extinguish the flames
Firefighters from the Alicante Fire Prevention, Extinction and Rescue Service (SPEIS) were called to a fire in a residential area in the early hours of Thursday morning (September 9).
The emergency services were called at 5.15 am after a fire broke-out in a rubbish bin on Calle Villena in the city of Alicante.
Flames engulfed six vehicles, two houses and an adjacent building before firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze half an hour later.

In addition to two firefighting vehicles, the Policía Local and a SAMU ambulance were also present at the scene and a resident in one of the affected properties had to be taken to the General Alicante Hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
It is not clear what initially caused the fire.
