Torrevieja is staging the first event in its Gastronomic Calendar 2023 next week with its 2nd 'La Semana Más Dulce' (Sweetest Week) from February 13 to 19.

Eleven cafes and restaurants are taking part in the celebration of sweet treats, organised by the Association of Hospitality Businesses of Torrevieja and Region (AEHTC) and the Town Hall's department for Tourism, Trade and Hospitality.

From next Monday to Sunday, customers will be able to sample traditional cakes and pastries accompanied by coffee, tea or an infusion for between 3.50 and 6 euros at participating venues.

According to organisers, the event is "aimed at everyone and can be enjoyed during the usual opening hours of each café or restaurant".

"Cheese cakes, coconut, apple, carrot, three chocolates, crepes, pancakes, calatrava bread, grandmother's cake and cupcakes are just some of the delicious sweets that will delight customers throughout the week," they added.

The following establishments are taking part: HB Torrevieja; A Estribor Puerto; Cafeteria Ina Expresso; La Cantina Food & Drinks; La Glorieta Café; J. Mullins; Cafeteria Olga; Restaurant La Mata 'Felisa'; El Callejón; Paseo Beach Restaurant; and Cafeteria Bistro La Laguna.
