ARCHIVED - Family row leads to arrest in Torrevieja for growing and selling 'magic' mushrooms
Police in the Vega Baja town, Alicante province also discovered more than 800 unprescribed opiate tablets

The Guardia Civil in Torrevieja responded to a report of a family dispute at a home in the coastal town this week and inadvertently uncovered a mini-drug farm and the cultivation of hallucinogenic mushrooms.
A neighbour called the police to report some sort of row at the property but when they called to make a welfare check, they discovered a small greenhouse that was being used to grow 'magic' mushrooms and marijuana for trafficking.
A couple were at the property and once identified, officers concluded the man was involved in the sale of drugs and suspected various narcotic substances were hidden elsewhere on the property.
A full search was carried out, unearthing 12 grams of marijuana; 35 grams of hallucinogenic mushrooms; 400 grams of hashish, 18 grams of methamphetamines, 128 grams of a "cutting" substance used to adulterate the drug and more than 800 pharmaceutical opiate pills of different brands without the required prescription.
Police also seized a marijuana plant ready to be dried; utensils for weighing and cutting drugs; 500 euros in cash and an air revolver-type weapon.
The male occupant, who has a police record for similar offences, was arrested and charged with a crime against public health for drug trafficking. He appeared in court in Torrevieja and was released with conditions pending a further hearing.
