ARCHIVED - Earthquake measuring 2.0 on the Richter scale felt in Cabo de Palos
The tremor had its epicentre in the Mediterranean Sea, and affected Mazarrón, Águilas and Cartagena

An earthquake shook Cabo de Palos yesterday afternoon, Sunday April 24, at 7.09pm near the coast of Cartagena, Mazarrón and Águilas, registering magnitude 2.0 on the Richter scale.
The quake’s epicentre was located out in the Mediterranean Sea at a depth of six kilometres, according to the National Geographic Institute (IGN), which records seismic activity in Spain.
In the Region of Murcia, small tremors are common and sometimes there are several per week, but they rarely exceed two degrees of magnitude. This particular earthquake, however, was strong enough to make itself felt by people living in the Cabo de Palos area, unlike the earthquakes that took place in Águilas and Lorca last Thursday.
