Just because it’s approaching Christmas, doesn’t mean to say there’s nothing going on in Estrella de Mar, Los Urrutias. In fact, there are loads of events taking place at La Palmera Bar & Grill. Alongside their usual popular roast dinners and hearty meals, there’s an exciting line-up of live entertainment to enjoy, as always.
Mark your calendars for some unmissable nights:
- December 2: Chase the Ace
- December 6: MABS Charity Christmas Fayre at 11am
- December 12: Golf Society Xmas event with Chloe Leigh at 8pm
- December 13 & 20: Pre-Christmas dinner and dance with Lydia at 8pm + Chase the Ace winner - just €29.50 per person. Too good to miss!
- December 26: Racing and football buffet at 12pm
- December 29: Chris Power karaoke, disco and barbecue at 8pm

The only day they’re shut over the festive period is Christmas Day, December 25, plus every Monday as usual.
Food and drink at La Palmera
Of course, the food is just as important. On Saturday December 13 and Saturday December 20, they have special pre-Christmas dinners available to book in advance for just €29.50. See here for details and to reserve your place early!
Sundays are all about indulgent roasts with all the trimmings, including beef, pork, chicken or pre-ordered lamb shanks, served with Yorkshire puddings, seasonal vegetables and rich gravy from just €9.95. Extra-large portions are also available for bigger appetites.
During the week, La Palmera continues to offer the popular €10 Menu del Dia, served from 12 noon until 9pm Tuesday to Friday. With ever-changing starters, mains and desserts, plus tea or coffee, it’s a perfect weekday treat.
And don’t forget the smoked roast boards, ideal for sharing. Choose from the 2 Bob, 3 Bob or 4 Bob boards, packed with slow-smoked brisket, tender ribs, juicy chicken, roast potatoes, vegetables, Yorkshire puddings and rich Guinness gravy.
Set on Calle Adelfas 1, La Palmera is easy to reach and has free parking. The terrace is perfect for enjoying meals outdoors, while indoors you’ll find a vibrant bar, pool table and large screens for live sports. The on-site bowls green is open every day for a casual game in the sunshine.
La Palmera is open Tuesday to Sunday, serving all-day breakfasts from 10am (except Sundays), lunch and evening meals from 12 noon to 9pm, and hosting private parties and functions for those planning something special.

Sunday roasts
Sundays at La Palmera are all about those incredible smoked roast boards that have become the stuff of local legend. The kitchen team slow-smokes succulent beef brisket, fall-off-the-bone ribs and tender chicken, then serves it all up on sharing platters alongside perfectly roasted potatoes and vegetables, fluffy Yorkshire puddings and rich Guinness gravy.
The boards come in three sizes: the 2 Bob Board at €33, the 3 Bob Board at €45 or go all out with the 4 Bob Board at €60.
Regular live entertainment
La Palmera knows how to keep the party going with their fantastic line-up of regular entertainment. You'll find silent discos where you can dance the night away to your own beat, live music that gets everyone singing along, and dance classes that are guaranteed to have you laughing and moving (even if you've got two left feet).
But the real highlight has to be Quingo every Tuesday. It's competitive, hilarious and the perfect way to test your knowledge while having a proper laugh with friends.
