ARCHIVED - Broad daylight shooting between neighbours in Alicante leaves one wounded as 7 are arrested
Gunshots were fired in the centre of Alicante in a dispute between two families
Six men and a woman have been arrested after a broad daylight shooting in Alicante city following a neighbourly dispute between two families which left one man wounded.
Shots were fired in Calle Poeta Vicente Medina in the north of city at around 2.15pm on Wednesday July 20, and several National Police units were deployed following several reports from local residents.
According to police sources, the injured man, one of those arrested, was shot in the foot but is "not in a serious condition".

Officers from the Provincial Scientific Police Brigade located a 9mm Parabellum shell casing but are still trying to trace the firearm.
Initially, four men, aged 44, 26, 23 and 19, belonging to the same family, were arrested, followed by the injured man, aged 32, another man and a woman, both aged 29, members of the second family, for their alleged involvement in the violent dispute.
The detainees are in custody at Alicante Provincial Police Station as an investigation continues into the cause and circumstances of the brawl in broad daylight.
