ARCHIVED - All aboard: Torrevieja Salt Lakes Tourist Train is back on track
Guided trips in English through the heart of Salina de Torrevieja in Alicante province resumed on March 31
Torrevieja Salt Lakes Tourist Train is back in service with daily guided trips in English of the magical pink lakes and surroundings.
The hour-long trip offers a fantastic opportunity to discover more about the salt producing Natural Park lagoons of La Mata and Torrevieja and the characteristic enclaves: the unique pink lagoon, the ancient crystallisers and the immense mountains of salt, in addition to all the flora and fauna associated with this wetland of international recognition.
Once at the infamous and historic lakes, which remain of huge importance in the region, the train stops off at the salt mountains and locals and tourists alike can have a stroll around and take photographs, before heading back.
The train departs from the Paseo de la Libertad in the centre of Torrevieja, with capacity for six people, and tickets cost 8.95 euros (adults), 7.95 euros for senior and children aged two to 12-years-old, available at the train stop.
Guided tours (also in Spanish) take place Tuesday to Sunday at: 11am, 12.15pm, 1.30pm, 5pm and 6.30pm.
