902 phone calls in Spain are an abuse
Every time you call these numbers the company you call makes money
Although new government legislation is in the process of being passed to stop consumer complaints lines from charging high phone tariffs and change the call value to local call rates, currently every time you call a company on a 902 number, you are being ripped off.
Banks, customer service lines, even telephone providers routinely give 902 numbers for client contact numbers so that they can make even more money out of you by leaving you hanging on the line for the maximum time possible.
Charges for 902 calls will cost you between 0.15 and 0.19 cents per minute, and in the case of mobiles, this rises to an even more abusive 0.49 cents per minute, plus connection charges.
And the company you are calling earns revenue from this sum, so every minute they can keep you on the line, passing your call from department to department, they are earning money from you.
What can you do? Email a protest. Refuse to support them any longer. Send in a protest letter to the newspapers- forget that one, they rip you off by only having 902 contact numbers as well. Call the radio stations and complain- forget that one, they have 902 numbers as well. So preferably email anybody you can and make sure your friends know how much they are all being ripped off.
REMEMBER, IF YOU CALL A 902 NUMBER IT’S COSTING YOU A LOT OF MONEY!!!!!
