ARCHIVED - Yellow alert for heavy thunderstorms on Thursday in Murcia and Alicante
Heavy rainfall is expected on the Costa Cálida and Costa Blanca this Thursday
Spain’s State Meteorological Agency, Aemet, has updated its weather warnings for this week to include a yellow alert for adverse weather conditions on Thursday November 10 and Friday November 11 in the Campo de Cartagena and Mazarrón and the entire coastline of Alicante province.
A yellow level storm warning indicates that severe thunderstorms are expected in the affected warning area.
The alert will be in place throughout the entire two days, from 00.00am on Thursday until 23.59pm on Friday, with the probability of rainfall between 40 and 70%.
In the Murcia Region, up to 15 litres of rain per square metre are expected in one hour, while the Alicante weather forecast is expecting to receive anywhere from 20 to 60 litres.
For now, the weather forecast in Murcia for the rest of the week looks like the rain will begin to clear up after Saturday November 12 and the weekend will be mostly sunny.
