Heavy and persistent rainfall is likely across Alicante province midweek

Following weeks of unusually high temperatures in Alicante province, the weather will shift notably with the mercury taking a dip this week and heavy and persistent rainfall likely on Thursday, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
Once again, cloud will prevail and coastal areas in particular will feel cooler thanks to sea breezes and moderate winds.
Monday November 7 will get off to an overcast start with intervals of high cloud giving way to low cloud for most of the day. Maximum temperatures will rise only slightly, and briefly, but thermometers will fall at night. Light variable winds are forecast, with sea breezes in the afternoon.

Low cloud early Tuesday morning, November 8 will be accompanied by mist in inland areas of the province and little change in temperatures. A light variable wind will become more intense and southerly along the coast as the day progresses.

Aemet has forecast pretty much the same for Wednesday November 9 with cloudy intervals expected across the province for much of the day. Wednesday afternoon will also see the arrival of rain in the northern interior which may spread to all areas late afternoon. Night-time temperatures are likely to dip again, slightly, and a light variable wind, predominantly westerly and north-westerly in the afternoon, will be more intense on the north coast.
