ARCHIVED - Winds continue with clear skies: Alicante weather watch from February 21
Temperatures are expected to rise in much of the Valencia region this week
Clear skies or light cloud are expected across the Valencia region, including Alicante province over the next few days, kicking off the week with dry, sunny conditions for most of Monday February 21, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
However, it will feel blustery in the north of the province of Castellón, due to west and northwesterly winds, although a rise in temperatures can be expected.
Moving into Tuesday, and the clear skies will continue, accompanied by light to moderate winds from the west, which are likely to be more intense in the north of Castellón. Temperatures will rise, except for the maximum temperatures, which will fall in Alicante and coastal areas.
Over the weekend, minimum temperatures of 7.6ºC and maximums of 17.9 were recorded in Alicante province, the lower of which could rise by up to two degrees.
More cloudy intervals and intermittent showers are forecast for Wednesday and Thursday, with changes in temperatures similar to earlier in the week.
But according to Aemet, conditions are likely to become more unstable from Thursday as the weekend approaches and the "atmospheric uncertainty increases notably".
There's a possibility of occasional showers across the Valencia region on Friday and Saturday, with 75% and 50% likelihood of rain respectively, and a drop in temperatures.
On Sunday and Monday, February 27 and 28, the trend will be towards stability in general, although intervals of medium and high clouds are expected, although it is likely to feel warmer.
