See the FarmFoods European Senior Masters Championship at La Manga Club, November 7-10, 2024

This local Murcia golf competition is going from strength to strength, and this year there will be coverage of the event on Sky Sports Golf. It is being sponsored by Bentley Leicester, Coca-Cola, Heniam & Associates, La Quinta Club, La Manga Life Magazine and many more.
If you’re interested in going along to this golfing competition, which is growing in prestige year on year, you’re in luck as you can get your hands on one of the 30 free tickets which Murcia Today is giving away this October. More details below.
Who is playing at the FarmFoods European Senior Masters Championship 2024?
New professional players competing for the massive €375,000 prize pot for the first time include French national Thomas Levet, a Ryder Cup winner in 2004 when he beat Fred Funk; Stephen Dodd from Wales, who won the 2021 Senior British Open Championship at Sunningdale; Jeev Milkha Singh from India; and Scotland’s Scott Drummond, winner of the PGA Championship at Wentworth in 2004.
Phillip Price, a Ryder Cup winner in 2002 when he beat Phil Mickelson, returns alongside other Ryder Cup players.
Major winners Ian Woosnam, Paul Lawrie and Peter Baker, our 2024 Senior Masters host, as well as Joakim Haeggman, Jarmo Sandelin, Miguel-Angel Martin, Niclas Fasth and Jarmo Sandelin have all entered.
New Zealander Michael Campbell, winner of the US Open in 2005, and Gary Wolstenholme, twice winner of the British Amateur Championship, are also in the field. The full list of professional entries may be viewed on The Legends Tour website.
To date, an impressive 23 of the 26 available Pro-Am team slots have been confirmed, which will make for a great opening day on to the championship on Thursday November 7.
World trick-shot winner David Edwards will entertain with his fabulous show before the Pro-Am teams tee-off. Everyone – owners, visitors and guests – is invited to attend the event, which will take place at the at the driving range.
The Pro-Alliance competition will follow on Friday November 8 and Saturday 9. So far, 56 of the 62 amateur places have been confirmed, so if you wish you wish play, get your entry in soon!
With 62 pairs playing, there will be an 8.20am start with 16 teams off the 1st tee and 15 teams off the 10th at 10-minute intervals on both days.
Following La Manga Club’s very own Mia Ingham’s recent win at the Fairmont St Andrews competition, an event carrying world amateur ranking points, event organisers Champion’s UK plc have invited her to play in the Pro-Alliance event. With her plus handicap, Mia will be playing from the Amateur yellow tees.
