Widespread rain and thundery showers: Alicante weather forecast Sept 2-8
The rain will spread to most of Alicante province later in the week as the temperatures take a nosedive
Weather outlook on Monday
Summertime in Spain officially comes to an end on September 22 and the weather seems to be preparing itself well in advance. The month has started off wet and dreary in much of Spain and in Alicante, the coming week looks set to be very unsettled.
So far, the rain has mainly affected the north of the province but this will spread further south over the coming days, albeit in a much weaker way. The temperatures will also fluctuate across the board, with Thursday tipped to be the coolest day of the week.
The northern coast of Alicante and inland areas of the province have been issued with a yellow alert for thunderstorms and heavy rain on Monday September 2, but most parts can expect cloudy or even overcast skies. Daytime temperatures will take a dip but the evening will still be very warm.
Cloudy skies are forecast again on Tuesday September 3 with thundery showers that could be accompanied by hail, but these are unlikely to spread to southern Alicante. No major changes are expected temperature-wise.
Weather outlook on Tuesday
Wednesday September 4 will be another overcast, showery day as the temperatures continue to fall, but Thursday September 5 will be by far the coolest day, with the mercury failing to exceed 27ºC anywhere in the province.
Weather outlook on Thursday
On both days there’s a likelihood of rain, but it shouldn’t be too heavy, and the skies will clear up a bit on Friday September 6, although scattered afternoon showers are a possibility along the northern coast.
Temperatures will recover over the weekend, with the mercury creeping back up into the 30s on Saturday September 7 and things will return to normal on Sunday September 8, with plenty of sunshine and no rain forecast.
