Cloudy with a chance of rain: Alicante weather forecast Aug 26-Sept 1
The end of the month will be rather overcast in Alicante province with some rain forecast at the weekend
Weather outlook on Sunday September 1
The hottest days of summer have gone by in a flash and as we approach September, the mercury has already dropped by several degrees in much of the Valencian Community. According to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), the week ahead will be pleasant enough if a bit cloudy, but closer to the weekend the skies could open again to douse us in some more summer storms.
Monday August 26 will start off nice and bright but the cloud cover will deepen towards the afternoon, especially inland. A moderate northeasterly wind will feel a lot more blustery along the coast, similar to Sunday, and the temperatures should fall by a degree or two in most parts.
The outlook improves considerably on Tuesday August 27, although inland municipalities will still see plenty of cloud cover. Few changes are expected temperature-wise and the breeze will die down completely, leaving behind a gentle southerly wind in the afternoon.
Change is afoot once more on Wednesday August 28, when the skies will become rather cloudy across the board. Wednesday night will be quite a bit warmer than previous days, but the daytime temperatures will remain largely unchanged.
A light variable wind could become very blustery on the central coast.
Most of Alicante can expect partly cloudy skies on Thursday August 29, but inland, that cloud cover will expand as the hours go by.
Occasional showers accompanied by thunderstorms are not ruled out in the northern interior in the afternoon. Temperatures with few changes, and an easterly breeze will gain strength on the Atlantic coast during the afternoon.
At the moment, it looks as though a DANA will position itself off the west of Spain on Friday August 30, which will result in showers and storms in most inland areas. Alicante should escape the worst of the weather though, and Saturday August 31 too promises to be mostly clear, dry and bright.
The weather will change on the last day of the month, and there’s a strong chance of rain inland on Sunday September 1, which most other areas can expect mostly cloudy skies.
