What’s on in Aguilas September 2023
ARCHIVED ARTICLE -
The peak summer season is now over in Águilas but the beaches are still in great condition and cultural and sporting activities begin a new season!
The month of September in Águilas is filled with a sense of returning to normality after the bustling summer season, when the beaches, hotels and apartments are packed, and as the school holidays end in Spain a new season of cultural and sporting activities begins in the municipality.
The seafront auditorium begins a new season towards the end of the month and always offers a variety of entertainment throughout the year, and the ever-popular guided tours continue every weekend. On top of that, there is, as ever, a wide range of events and activities as cultural centres resume their services, and of course the local gastronomy is just as delicious as usual!
For further information on these and other events, as well as places to see and visit throughout the municipality, contact the tourist office of Águilas or visit the home page of Águilas Today.
NOTE: This schedule is likely to be updated as the month progresses!

Every Saturday evening, guided visits at the iconic Embarcadero del Hornillo railway loading jetty
The iconic 120-year-old railway loading jetty of the Embarcadero de Hornillo has recently been opened to visits from members of the public as of June 3. The first phase of the project to restore the jetty was completed during the spring and much of its former glory (and structural stability) has been recovered.
As a result guided visits are now permitted, taking place during September on Saturdays (on September 2 and 9 between 19.00 and 21.00, from September 16 onwards between 11.00 and 13.00). This timetable is susceptible to modification according to demand. Registration for these free visits is currently through the Águilas tourist office only but it is hoped that an online facility is soon to be added.
