Warm start before the rain and cold arrives: Alicante weather forecast Oct 16-19
Widespread rain is expected in the second half of the week in Alicante as temperatures prepare to plummet
The coming week will begin with more exceptionally high temperatures in the province of Alicante but several approaching weather fronts from the north will herald a change as the days go by. As we move towards the weekend, the long-awaited rain will almost certainly arrive in abundance and the temperatures will drop significantly, creating a far more autumn-like outlook.
Monday October 16
This Monday the skies will be mostly overcast and there could be some light drizzle inland, although the chances are slim. Daytime temperatures will remain very pleasant, with maximums above 25ºC across the board.

Denia: 17ºC to 27ºC
Elche: 17ºC to 28ºC
Orihuela: 17ºC to 29ºC
Tuesday October 17
Cloudy intervals throughout the day will develop into mostly overcast skies in the evening but few changes are expected to either the day or night-time temperatures.

Elche: 17ºC to 28ºC

Wednesday October 18
Wednesday will be another largely cloudy day with moderate west and southwesterly winds, with very strong gusts in inland mountain areas. Temperatures should rise by a couple of degrees, particularly along the coast.

Thursday October 19
The real changes are expected to come from Thursday when the cloudiness will increase throughout the day from west to east, carrying plenty of rain. In fact, there’s more than an 80% chance of rain in most of the main towns of the province with occasional stormy intervals also forecast. Daytime temperatures will dip slightly but the thermometers will still remain above 25ºC in most places.

The weekend
While the rain will tend to peter out by the weekend, the temperatures will begin to drop significantly by Friday October 20, and while it will still be far from cold, the change will be noticeable with decreases of several degrees in most areas.
