ARCHIVED - Valencia vaccination update September 9: thousands take advantage of walk-in vaccination clinics
More than 3.7 million people in Valencia, including Alicante province, have now been fully vaccinated
Since the Valencian government announced it would be providing coronavirus vaccines without appointments in 133 of the community’s mass vaccination centres from Tuesday September 7 the uptake has been encouraging. On the very first day, 5,110 people turned out to get their first jab while a further 3,682 received their second Covid inoculation.
Following the latest data released by the Ministry of Health in Spain, as of Thursday September 9, a total of 3,779,021 people have now been double jabbed in the Valencian Community while 4,008,273 people have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
As most school-aged youngsters return to the classrooms this week, Valencia is also making good strides in vaccinating the 12 to 19 population, with 60.5 per cent of this group now fully inoculated. The Community is now ranked at number five in the country for the vaccination rate of this younger population, following the Canary Islands (63.9%), the Region of Murcia (63.7%), the Balearic Islands (63.5%) and Navarra (61%).
