ARCHIVED - Until August 16 August Fiestas of San Roque in Blanca 2022
The annual fiestas in the Valley of Ricote feature bull runs and bullfighting
The town of Blanca, in the Ricote Valley, celebrates its annual fiestas in honour of San Roque in the days leading up to the Feast Day of the Sain on August 16, with a wide range of activities including open air concerts, a funfair and “encierros” (or bull runs).
Bullfighting also forms part of the overall programme, so if you object to bull-related events, then best avoid Blanca during this period!
On the other hand, if you are intending to participate in a bull run, then please remember that participants are not permitted to run with backpacks or bags which could get in the way of their own progress or that of fellow runners, suitable shoes must be worn (no flip-flops!), and avoid taking drugs or alcohol.
In addition, it is prohibited to stand in the street during the run unless you are actually taking part, prodding or touching the bulls to attract their attention is prohibited, photographs may not be taken by runners, and under-18’s are not allowed to take part.
Ticket prices for the events in the bull ring range from 13.50 to 20 euros for individual events and from 31.50 to 50 euros for season tickets. Prices are lower for the “recortador” events.
Tickets are available from the municipal library between 12.00 and 14.00 and from 18.00 to 20.00. Bookings and information on 618 606680 and 637 418642.
