Tributes pour in for Northern Ireland woman who died on holiday in Spain
The popular Antrim hockey player passed away suddenly on a recent trip to Benidorm

The Northern Ireland town of Carrickfergus in County Antrim is reeling from news that local woman Caroline Cromie died suddenly while holidaying in the Alicante resort of Benidorm over the weekend.
No further details about how Ms Cromie died have been released by Spanish police but it’s understood that the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust is supporting the young woman’s family with returning her remains to Northern Ireland.
Ms Cromie had been playing with the Mossley Ladies Hockey Club in Newtownabbey for years and her teammates have flooded social media with heartbreaking tributes to their friend.
“We are devastated to learn of the untimely death of our former club member Caroline Cromie, whilst on holiday in Spain.
“Caroline was our 1st X1 goalkeeper for many years and no-one quite lit up a room like she did — everyone who knew her loved her,” one shocked person wrote.
“So many memories, so many laughs,” a close friend added.
“Another good girl gone too soon. Forever in my heart.”
Last year, Belfast man Paul McNulty died after falling down a flight of stairs at his hotel in Tenerife. The 54-year-old father was on holiday with his family when he sustained a serious head injury and passed away a short time later.
