ARCHIVED - Teulada Moraira steps up security with a host of new CCTV cameras
The council has begun the first phase of CCTV installation at strategic points in the Marina Alta town, Alicante province

With summer fast approaching, towns across Alicante province are stepping up beach patrols and reinforcing police resources in anticipation of an influx of both domestic and international holidaymakers.
And Teulada Moraira has this week begun installing surveillance cameras at strategic points across the municipality, with the erection of the first CCTVs equipped with a two-year image management service expected to be completed within the next few days.
The cameras will be rolled out in phases, as Mayor Raúl Llobell pointed out: "This first phase of installation will be followed by a more extensive one with more cameras and different control measures to provide the municipality with increased security.
"This is not only to assist in situations such as accidents, infractions or crimes on public roads, but the cameras will also act as a tool against vandalism."
