Strong gusts are forecast for at least 48 hours across most of Alicante province

Fierce winds which marked much of the weekend in Alicante province look set to continue for at least another 48 hours with the State Meterological Agency (Aemet) issuing a warning for strong gusts further inland.

Having got off to a cloudy start, conditions will remain overcast on Monday November 21 with occasional thunderstorms from midday onwards. Wind from the west and southwest will be moderate to strong with 'very strong gusts' inland in the afternoon.

Alcoy: 8ºC to 20ºC

Alicante: 11ºC to 24ºC

Denia: 12ºC to 23ºC

Elche: 10ºC to 24ºC

Orihuela: 10ºC to 23ºC

Cloudy intervals will shape Tuesday November 22 accompanied by a drop in temperatures, particularly during the day. Again, moderate to strong westerly winds will feel more intense further from the coast and there's a chance of the odd thunderstorm.

Alcoy: 6ºC to 14ºC

Alicante: 11ºC to 20ºC

Denia: 11ºC to 19ºC

Elche: 11ºC to 20ºC

Orihuela: 12ºC to 18ºC

Cloudy intervals are forecast on Wednesday November 23, with more abundant cloudiness in inland areas where weak, scattered and occasional rainfall are not ruled out. Temperatures will rise slightly across the board, although a moderate to strong westerly wind, with very strong gusts inland, will continue make its presence known, easing in the afternoon.

Alcoy: 12ºC to 19ºC

Alicante: 14ºC to 25ºC

Denia: 15ºC to 24ºC

Elche: 14ºC to 24ºC

Orihuela: 13ºC to 25ºC

More cloud, particularly in the northern half of the province, is expected on Thursday November 24, along with weak and scattered showers. Temperatures will drop accompanied by winds from the west and southwest.

Alicante: 13ºC to 22ºC

Denia: 13ºC to 22ºC

Elche: 13ºC to 22ºC

Orihuela: 13ºC to 22ºC
