Stormy start to December as mini squall brings thunder and rain: Alicante weather Dec 1-4
The new weather front will see temperatures fall across Alicante province this weekend

The arrival of a 'mini squall' in Alicante province looks set to bring rain and thunderstorms over the next few days, accompanied by a drop in temperatures, particularly along the coast.
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has forecast cloud and overcast skies for most of Thursday December 1, with the possibility of thunderstorms and locally heavy or persistent showers in coastal areas, more so on the north coast, and weaker and occasional showers inland. A light variable northeasterly wind in the morning will become slightly more intense on the coast in the afternoon.

Orihuela: 8ºC to 14ºC
Moving into Friday December 2 and heavy cloud will persist, again with showers and possible thunderstorms, locally heavy or persistent on the coast, and weaker and occasional further inland. Morning mists and fog are also forecast in inland areas. Temperatures are unlikely to change notably and a northeast wind will be moderate with intervals of strong gusts on the coast; light to moderate inland.

The weekend will get off to a cloudy or overcast start on Saturday December 3, tending towards cloudy intervals in the afternoon. Rainfall is expected in the north where it could be locally heavy or persistent, with a tendency to weaken or subside from the afternoon onwards. In the rest of the province, weaker and occasional showers and light frost are not ruled out. Minimum temperatures will fall, although maximums could rise slightly. A northerly wind early on is expected to become westerly in the afternoon, with intervals of strong gusts in coastal areas.
