ARCHIVED - Six people injured in boat explosion at Calpe port on the Coast Blanca
Nine people were aboard the yacht that had just refuelled at the port in the Marina Alta, Alicante province

Three children are amongst six people injured when a boat exploded minutes after refuelling at Calpe port.
The wounded suffered burns, cuts and bruises and some were thrown from the yacht in the blast on Monday afternoon, August 15. Police sources initially reported nine casualties, as there were nine adults and children aboard, but the Valancian Emergencias 112 has now confirmed six people were hospitalised.
The explosion was reportedly caused by a deflagration that occurred when the engine was started after refuelling. Fortunately, the boat didn't catch fire, but suffered extensive material damage in addition to personal injuries.
Calpe lifeguard service was first on the scene, quickly joined by SAMU and Basic Life Support ambulance crews.
Seven people were transferred by ambulance: four to Denia Hospital and three to Calpe Health Centre, although in the latter case, one was an unhurt woman accompanying two minors.
The four taken to Denia are three adults aged between 45 and 55 who sustained first degree burns, and a 14-year-old. Two of the adults also suffered various injuries after being thrown from the boat in the blast.
The other two treated at Calpe clinic are a 14-year-old minor with contusions and a 10-year-old with burns.
