'She was found drugged in the park': American student sexually assaulted in Spain's Seville

Chemical substances may have been involved in the attack

Police in Seville are investigating an alleged sexual assault of a 20-year-old American student. The incident is believed to have taken place in the early hours of the morning on Friday January 17.

The student was discovered in a park in the Andalusian capital, disoriented, cold and explaining that she had been raped and possibly drugged. Municipal workers were the ones who found her.

After she told the workers what had happened, they notified the authorities, who interviewed the woman. She was later transferred to a hospital for a thorough examination.

Following the young woman’s testimony the police opened an investigation to find out what had happened to the student, who has stated that she could have been subjected to chemical substances that have not allowed her to remember much of what has happened.

In Málaga, an American tourist was discovered dead in an city centre apartment after sustaining a severe blow to the head.
