Seismic activity continues with 3.2-magnitude earthquake off coast of Murcia and Almería
There have been seven earthquakes in Murcia in the last 72 hours

Seismic activity continues in the south of Spain. This Tuesday March 25, after an earthquake was recorded in Lorca, the sixth in the last 72 hours, the National Geographic Institute (IGN) has reported another tremor, in this case in the Mediterranean, in the waters off the Murcia and Almería coast.
This seaquake took place at 11.50am on Tuesday, at a depth of 10 kilometres, and was the most intense of those reported in the last three days, with a magnitude of 3.2 on the Richter scale.
Earlier the same morning, at 3.14am, a smaller 1.6-magnitude tremor was reported in Lorca at a depth of 14km.
In total, the IGN has reported seven earthquakes from March 22 to 25. Four of the earthquakes have exceeded a magnitude of 2.0. The first of these, of 2.5 degrees, was recorded last Saturday at around 9 p.m. with its epicentre in Beniel. The tremor was also felt in Sucina, Torreagüera, Torrevieja and Pilar de la Horadada.
That same day, two and a half hours later, another 1.7-magnitude tremor shook Ceutí. The following day, Sunday March 23, the IGN reported two earthquakes, both in Moratalla. The first, a 1.7-magnitude quake, occurred in the early hours of the morning, at around 6am, and the second, a 2.4-magnitude quake, at 3.39pm.
This Monday the earth shook again, in this case in Alhama de Murcia. The earthquake, measuring 1.6 degrees, took place at 2am at a depth of 14km.

Small seismic movements are common in this area of Spain. The intensity of these tremors does not usually exceed 2 degrees of magnitude, so although there are people who feel them, they usually go unnoticed by most people.
The National Geographic Institute has reiterated on numerous occasions that the frequency of these low or medium intensity earthquakes is, in reality, a good sign as the earth releases tensions in this way without waiting for a major earthquake.
